about CNYS:
Central New York Services, Inc. (CNYS) is a private, not-for-profit Behavioral Health Organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals and families affected by mental illness and substance abuse. Created to serve our most at-risk community members, CNYS has worked for over 20 years to provide services to our community members dealing with mental health and substance abuse issues, developmental disabilities and poverty.
CNYS believes in the dignity and worth of every individual, our endless capacity for growth and change, and the ability to maximize potential throughout our lives. A person-centered organization, CNYS provides supportive services while respecting the right of each individual to make their own life choices.
CNYS is committed to providing the highest quality of service and utilizing the most cost effective delivery models. Due to consumer demand, our services have grown to include residential, clinical (including mental health and substance abuse counseling), forensic and financial management.
Through partnerships with other private and government agencies, CNYS offers professional counseling, residential services and day-to-day support to individuals and families in Onondaga, Oneida, and Madison counties. CNYS offers contracted support services for the Tioga County Department of Mental Hygiene and the Tompkins County Department of Mental Health.
Our experienced staff includes a wide range of behavioral health professionals including Psychiatrists (on-staff & consulting), CASAC's (Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselors), Social Workers and Nurses. Once on board with CNYS, opportunities exist agency-wide for all staff to enrich their skill sets through education and training opportunities.
Through creative and innovative programs, many of which are new to the field, CNYS has grown into a community leader in the provision of behavioral healthcare services throughout Central New York.
