The Financial Management Unit serves as the Representative Payee for individuals residing in Onondaga County. Due to the nature of their various disabilities, the clients of this program are unable to manage their own funds directly.

The Financial Case Managers of the FMU assist clients by assessing and meeting day-to-day financial needs, encouraging clients to access available services, and assisting clients in managing a wide range of financial issues. Ongoing benefits education and support is designed to encourage the highest level of independence.

All of these services are carefully documented, and provided in conjunction with the regulations of the Social Security Administration.
