Mohawk Valley Consulting Associates Training at CNYS 03/10/2011

CNYServices is a resource for our community but, as an agency, we also need resources to help us do our job. Mohawk Valley Consulting Associates (MVCA) is our source of support through their Employee Assistance Program.  Sara Haag, Community & Professional Development Specialist, recently spoke at our Supervisors Meeting on March 3, 2011.

CNYS supervisors and senior staff attended the EAP training on Supervision and Delegation. Giving an overview of communication and the factors which can affect communication, Sara offered strategies on how to best communicate between supervisors and staff.

Since Mohawk Valley Consulting Associates also offers direct support to employees, Sara also touched on the services her agency provides and their stringent privacy policies and procedures. CNYS recognizes the needs of our staff, as well as our consumers, and ensures that our employees know there is help and support for them. Recognizing and meeting the needs of our staffers prepares us to meet the demands of our community. 

While CNYS supervisory staff is always here to assist our employees and they are encouraged to contact MVCA as needed. Confidential services are free to CNYS employees through our contract with MVCA. MVCA provides assistance with a range of life issues including depression, grief, substance abuse, family troubles, anger and gambling.
