The
Recovery Case Management program provides case management to Onondaga County
probationers and conditional releasees. All of the clients of this program have
violated the terms of their probation as a result of ongoing substance abuse,
and are referred to RCM as an alternative to incarceration program (ATIP). The
Case Managers work primarily in the field, linking clients to appropriate
community services, making home visits, providing support for appointments and
encouraging critical life style changes. The services are delivered in a
partnership with the Onondaga County Probation Department, as the Case Managers
share a caseload with Probation Officers who specialize in chemical dependency.
Clients' successes become community benefits, as healthy recovery results in
reduced rates of incarceration.
