Enriched Services - Single Room Occupancy
The Enriched Services Single Room Occupancy Program is a forty-eight (48) bed
residence with private living units and on-site service designed to meet the
individual needs of the residents.
The program is intended to provide stable, clean, comfortable long term
housing to adults with serious and persistent mental illness. By encouraging
individual initiative and pride in their living situation, the program aims to
bolster self-esteem and independence for these individuals.
The rooms are located in three side-by-side homes in Syracuse. Two of the homes are handicapped accessible. Each
resident is provided with a private room with a bed, table, dresser, closet,
chair and lamps, shared baths and living areas. Residents may bring their own
furniture if they prefer. Residents may participate in a full meal plan or can
make their own meals in one of our satellite kitchens. Front desk reception is
covered 24 hours per day.
There is no minimum or maximum length of stay, nor are residents required to
participate in on-site or off-site treatment programs. Among support services
available from the on-site staff are case management, social/recreational,
behavioral intervention, medication management, substance abuse services, crisis
intervention, and activities for daily living in addition to room and board
services. Residents are free to choose any of the services, but if they choose
not to participate they are still entitled to live in the program.
Residents are eligible for SSI Level II Benefits. Meal plans and linen
services are available in addition to the monthly rent.
