Youth Diversion Program

This program provides services to troubled youth, and their families, who appear before juvenile Probation Officers in Oneida County. The primary goal of the program is to keep kids with their own families, thus avoiding institutional or out-of-home placements.

Staff complete CANS assessments on all youth who go through the Oneida County Probation Department and Oneida County Mental Health Tier 1 process. Recommendations for services and appropriate programs are made in writing to the Probation Officers. Youth in need of immediate services are referred to the appropriate agency.
